Eastern Kentucky

Brett and I decided to explore Eastern Kentucky on Saturday. Here is the route we took...

We started off in Jackson, KY...the kudzu was amazing. It was everywhere and covering everything! Apparently it can grow up to a foot per day in the summer months.

Here are some pictures of the gorgeous areas we saw on our drive...

These next pictures were taken in Kingdom Come State Park. The drive to get to the state park was one of the most vertical drives I've ever been on. :)

After the state park we headed up KY-160 towards Virgina to drive over Kentucky's highest point -- Black Mountain

After we drove up the mountain we went back down to the city of Benham and went through a coal mining museum.

Our last stop for the day was a drive through the Cumberland Gap Tunnel into Tennessee...
